If you are working a contract at the Ellesmere Port plant or for one of its suppliers, a whole house a mile from the gates will almost always beat a hotel room once the job runs past a few nights. You get a full kitchen, parking outside the door, space to actually unwind, and a weekly rate instead of a nightly one. Here is what is driving the demand, what to look for, and where our two Ellesmere Port homes sit.
Why Ellesmere Port is busy again
The plant on North Road has become the centre of Stellantis’s UK van production. It already builds battery-electric versions of the Vauxhall Combo, Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Fiat Doblo with around 950 people on site, and it was the first Stellantis plant anywhere to build a solely battery-electric model.
A further £50 million is now going in to add electric Vivaro sized vans from 2027, roughly double the investment originally planned, as production moves across from the Luton factory. Reporting around the announcement put the effect at about 1,000 jobs secured on site plus a few thousand more across the supply chain.
For anyone who travels for work, that translates into a steady flow of installation engineers, tooling and automation specialists, logistics staff and supplier teams coming into a fairly small Cheshire town, often for weeks at a time rather than a night or two.
What actually matters when you are here for weeks
A hotel is built for one or two nights. A six week contract is a different problem, and the things that matter are mostly unglamorous:
- Parking you do not pay for, right outside. If you have a van or a car full of tools, a paid city centre car park every night gets expensive and inconvenient fast.
- A full kitchen. Eating out every evening for six weeks costs more than the accommodation gap between a hotel and a house, and it gets old by week two.
- Somewhere to sit that is not the bed. A separate living room matters more than people expect when you are away from home for a month.
- A desk, if you have admin or reports to do. Not every property has one.
- A proper invoice, and flexibility to extend. Contracts slip. Being able to add a week without rebooking is worth a lot.
- Bills already included, so there is nothing to set up and nothing to settle at the end.

Our two homes in Ellesmere Port
Both are inside Ellesmere Port itself, so getting to North Road is a short local drive rather than a motorway commute.

The Westminster Road house is the one to ask about if there are a few of you sharing, since three double bedrooms and a dining table for six work well for a crew. The Coach House suits someone who needs a quiet base with a desk and guaranteed off-street parking for two vehicles.

Getting around from here
The M53 is under five minutes from the Westminster Road house, which puts most of the region within an easy drive. From The Coach House, the distances are roughly:
- Chester: 7 miles, about 12 minutes
- Deeside: 9 miles, about 15 minutes
- Liverpool: 30 miles, about 30 to 40 minutes
- Manchester: 44 miles, about 40 to 45 minutes
So if your contract moves between sites, or you are working at Deeside rather than Ellesmere Port itself, this still works as a base. Cheshire Oaks and Blue Planet Aquarium are both close by for a weekend where you do not fancy driving home.
Teams, longer stays and invoices
We take nightly, weekly and monthly bookings, and we can take a whole house for a team. For anything beyond a couple of weeks, message us rather than booking online and we will quote you directly, since longer stays and multi room bookings are usually better priced that way.
Accommodation for a temporary workplace is normally an allowable business expense, so we can issue an invoice made out to your limited company or your agency. We are not tax advisers, and how long a workplace stays temporary depends on your own circumstances, so check the detail with your accountant.
